The Road is Now My Home

This started as 8 Weeks, the solar eclipse, checkoff Oregon, Washington, Alaska, and back to LA. Then a strange thing happened. When you get in alignment with the universe and your inner compass – serendipity, synchronicity, and “things happening for a reason” – take over.

8 weeks became 3-4 months, then maybe just maybe I could stretch it to 6 months and Sundance in January. Soon the crazy possibility of June almost a year crept in.

Month to month I’ve never really known how long I could keep this going. Staying in Alaska for the winter was never the plan. Chatting with a couple National Park Rangers opened up the idea – and more important – how. Even still I got within 70 miles of leaving across the Canadian border before I stopped – Why am I leaving?

I got out of the Jeep. Stood, looked at the mountains, the sunset, Why am I leaving? I have ALWAYS wanted to live in 10’ of snow for a whole winter. I got in my Jeep and turned around.

Why did I stay in Alaska? Because I realized – I could.

Our lives are up to us, we are more free than we know.
